BMW Repair: sticking air conditioner switch, snow flakes, new button

Question
My button that turns on the air conditioning is stuck on. This is in a 1991 318i. It is the blue button with snow flakes connected to the recirculation button. It was working fine, but now it is on and will not come back out. Can I repair this? If I need to buy a new button what do I need to do to get the old one out? Thanks!

Answer
Keith, the button should just "pop" out.  Just below the selectors for vents there is a gap that you can fit your hand up into, you can probabably pop this switch out from here.

Once out and disconnected, you can spray it with some contact cleaner (radioshack) and it should un-stick the switch.  If it's broken, then you can always buy another.

 good luck,
