BMW Repair: E46 Saloon Front Foglight replacement, wheel arch, plastic mesh

Its the small round foglight! looks like the wheel arch cover comes off quite easy with some screws just behind the foglight . If this is right way can I do the job without taking off the wheel?

Hi, The very small lens has been smashed, I assume its a sealed unit and I need to replace complete RH foglight, can you tell me how I get to it. Do I go through the wheel arch and take out the bumper covers?

Ken, which fog light do you have? The round one or the early long/narrow one? both are sealed units.

Ken, I always take the wheel off, but I suppose if you turn the wheel all the way to one side and remove the wheel arch cover you can get to the light. If it is one of the small round versions that has a plastic mesh around it. You believe you need to remove the plastic outer trim aswell.
