BMW Repair: 1988 BMW - 325 tail light, bmw 325, socket wrench

Question
Does it take special tools to replace the existing left side (cracked) tail light with a newone? Are there ONLY screws envolved in this installation?
Thanks again,
Mike

Answer
Mike,
You shouldn't need anything other than an 8mm or 10mm socket/wrench to remove the tail lights.

Open the trunk and pull the carpeting away from the back of the tail light, you will see the 6-8 nuts holding the light in place.  Remove these nuts and the light will be loose.  There is a gasket in between the light and the body.  This gasket is probably stuck to one of the pieces (body or light) and try not to destroy it when removing the light.  If you do break it, make sure to get another one, or your trunk will be full of water when it rains.
 Good luck,
 Josh
