BMW Repair: Brake shaking on 2000 BMW 528i, control arm bushings, bmw brake

Question
I own a 2000 BMW 528i with factory sport suspension.I recently replaced the pads and rotors both front and rear on the car with best Raybestos pads and rotors. I also replaced the rubber brake line with braided steel lines. I have put about 2,000 miles on the car since the replacements. The problem is now when I moderately brake at speeds above 45 mph, the steering wheel shakes. If I brake hard the steering wheel does not shake. The problem seems to be getting worse.

Answer
Mike, I only recommend using BMW brake components, so I suggest going with stock parts but that isn't what you want to hear. Check your front control arm bushings for tearing, cracking, or if they have leaked out their fluid. It really sounds like the brakes are your problem though. Tire balance is out of the question because it only happens when you brake. Good luck.
