BMW Repair: brake light always on, brake light switch, lighting module

Question
I have a electrical problem with my 97 528i.  My rear brake light on the passenger side will not go out.  I have disconnected the brake light switch and even removed the fuse.  The drivers brake light and third brake light functions ok.  I have checked all the other bulbs in both of the rear bulb holders and they checked out ok. I used a voltmeter and disconnected the connecter to the bulb holder and there is definatly 12 volts at the wire for the brake light bulb.  I have traced the wire back to where the wires go from the trunk into the body of the car.  Please let me know what your opinion is and where you think the short is.  Thank you

Answer
All the lights are controlled by the lighting module in the right front inside kickpanel.
This processer controls all the lighting on your car and is coded for your setup such as angel eyes, zenon, etc.
That is most likely where the problem is and can only be fixed withn a new box, dealer only Im afraid.
The box is easy to get to(white rectangular plastic) behind the kickpanel but the dealer will need to code it.
