BMW Repair: 1996 BMW Constant Battery Drain/Electrical, windshield wipers, bmw 328i

Question
My battery is constantly being drained by some source.  At first, it would only go dead if it hadn't been driven in 2-3 days.  Now, it won't keep a charge overnight.  The battery will take a full charge.  What could be wrong?

Also, I have an electrical malfunction that happens when driving.  On occasions, with no particular pattern, the needles on the gauges dip down and go right back to normal.  On rarer occasions, they dip and the lights come on as if the engine were restarted.  Sometimes the windshield wipers work, and sometimes they don't, or they go fast when on slow, etc.  Sometimes when I turn my blinker on it makes the needles dip.
1996, BMW, 328i
I have no repair history as such

Thanks, Patti

Answer
it appears that you may have some serious electrical issues here. 1st, how old is the battery? batteries only last a maximum of 6-7 years so you may need a new battery. have this checked and replaced if needed and have the charging system inspected. do you plan to do this yourself? it is quite easy to do. let me know and I can walk you through it.
