GMC Repair: 2003 jimmy, radiator fan, loosey

I have a 2003 2-door 4-wheel drive jimmy.  I parked my vehicle and came back after a couple of minutes and saw liquid pouring out from the front.  I'm trying to remove the radiator fan nutt so that I can get at the water pump but I cannot move the nutt.  I've tried sptraying it and hammering it.  Does it turn clockwise or counterclockwise?  Thanks for any help you can give.

The big 1 and 7/16 inch nut has a standard thread.  Lefty loosey, Righty tightey.  Just wedge a big screwdriver in there to keep it from turning the best you can, and hit the big wrench with a hammer until it breaks loose.  Some times they are pretty tough.  Best of luck to you!
