GMC Repair: brake lights in/op, power fuse, fuse box

Question
Hi,,,I own a 99 Jimmy 4dr 4.3 auto 4x4...Recently my brake lights stopped working.I'm 58 and was a certified auto tech for 30 yrs..Unfortunately my experience ended in 1996.so with that said i tested the fuse and it has no power..fuse tested good.No power where the fuse plugs in.It should have power all the time according to the diagram i have. Also just for grins i replaced the stop light switch and rear bulbs. The bulbs all checked good.I'm thinking the BCM is at fault,,but again this system is new to me...Any help would be appreciated..Thanks...

Answer
Hi
If the stop lamp fuse, and or the terminal(s) are not getting power, it looks like the ONLY item it could be is the fuse box itself. The power to the fuse comes straight from the battery. The fuse box battery bus bar distributes the power to different fuses. If other fuses in the box are getting power, it is very possible the PCB of the fuse box has an open circuit.
Hope this helps
