GMC Repair: DRL idiot light on dash panel, gmc sierra, gmc dealer

Question
I just had my DRLs repaired at the GMC dealer this week.  When stating the vehicle the regular headlight idiot light is lit on the dashboard.  Is this the correct light to be lit during the daytime or should the DRL idiot light be lit?  I assume that the DRL should be lit vice the main headlight idiot light.  My truck is a 1996 GMC Sierra XC K1500 4x4 Z-71 5.7L.  Just had the DRL module replaced and a diode for the DRLs replaced.  My problem to begin with was that the DRL dash light was lit , but no DRLs running lights were lit during daytime driving.  GMC dealer says the problem is fixed.  I just want to know if the proper dash light icon is lit for daytime.  What light should be lit on the dash instrument panel.

Answer
Hi,
The GREEN DRL light should be illuminated when ever the DRL's are on.
Not sure what the "regular headlight idiot light" is, unless it is the BLUE high beam indicator.
The DRL green light, if memory serves me, is located in the upper LEFT(drivers side) of the IP cluster.
If the green one is NOT lit when the DRL's are on, then there is a problem.
I hope this helps!
