GMC Repair: engine swap, little known fact, gmc 1500

I have a 96 v6 4.3 tbi gmc 1500 4x4 and have a v8 305 tbi out of a 89 camaro id like to know if I could swap the engines without having to buy another computer or other pricey parts

sure you can. The wiring harnesses should basically be the same. the wiring harnesses that we use are for 4.3, 5.7, and 8.1. The only wiring harness that is unique to the engine is the 8.1. the v6 and v8 are the same. there are some things left loose on the 4.3. Little known fact is that retail auto parts sell the same part under several different names, as do other vendors. FYI
