QUESTION: How do you reset the "service 4 wheel drive" service reminder light?

ANSWER: not sure that it is meaning there is maintenance to be done, could be a fualt in the system that requires diagnosing, would need a scan tool to be sure

does it list a % in the DIC like the oil life system would?  if not and it is a orange light in the IPC, then I am pretty certain that means there is a fault in the system according to the diag info here if you can command the light off with the scan tool then the transfer case shift control module is at fault

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
Install a scan tool.
Use the scan tool in order to command SERVICE 4WD message OFF.
Does the SERVICE 4WD message turn OFF?

Go to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console

Replace the transfer case shift control module. Refer to Transfer Case Shift Control Module Replacement .

Use the scan tool in order to clear any DTCs .
Operate the vehicle within the conditions for allowing the symptom to re-occur.
