GMC Repair: water pump replacement, liquid gasket, water pump replacement

1994 gmc 6.5 turbo k2500 when i took off my water pump for replacement. i discover that there wasn't a gasket for the timing gear cover. is that put back together with some type of liquid gasket?

Yes special sealant
Here is the number and procedure.....


Apply anaerobic sealer GM P/N 1052357, or equivalent to the coolant pump backing plate. The sealer must be wet to the touch when tightening the bolts.
