GMC Repair: 1998 GMC Suburban, gmc suburban, tool trucks

Question
After repairing the fuel pump on my suburban, I cannot get the fuel pump back into the gas tank? I cannot disconnect the three fuel lines from the pump in order to pull the gas tank out in order to push the pump back into my tank. Is there something I can do differently? (I am a mechanic with SEVERAL years experience and I have never had this issue. Thanks.

Answer
Hi
Do you have the tank all the way removed?
If not remove it all the way. You'll be able to push the pump module down easier then.
Put alittle grease around the O ring seal of the module.
This will aid in it sealing easier.
The fuel ines use 1/4" and 3/8" GM fuel line disconnect tools avalible from (most) tool trucks. They are blue and gray color.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
