GMC Repair: motor swap, gmc sierra, speed shops

Question
Is it possible to put a 350 in place of a 305 without changing my intake and computer on the truck?

It is a 1997 GMC Sierra XC 4x2 Automatic

If it's a VIN M motor (305) to a VIN R motor (350), they will swap EXCEPT the PCM MAY need to be reprogrammed for a 350. Best advice would be to get an aftermarket reprogram done by a speed shop in your area if avalible, or there are numerous places you can send your PCM out and have it done.
You may also do some other checking on the 'net', as there may be some MUCH better fourms and posts that would get into more deatil than I can.
Or go to the local speed shops/race tracks in your area and ask around.
