GMC Repair: 98 gmc sierra 1500 4.3 v6, fuel pump relay, gmc sierra

Question
QUESTION: My husband's truck will not start. It spins over but acts like it is not getting fuel.  We've had this problem before, it was a relay sticking. If you tapped on the relay, it would start and be ok. Tonight that didn't work. We got a new relay to replace the one in it and still no luck. Any suggestions?

ANSWER: Hi
Best advice would be to have fuel pressure checked.
This should be 60-66 psi.
If not, the fuel pump will need to be replaced.
You can also make sure vehicle has spark.
I hope this helps.

QUESTION: We have no power to the fuel pump. We've changed the fuel pump relay and checked all fuses but still the fuel pump is not coming on at all. Any other suggestions?

Answer
Hi
I would then suspect wiring from relay to pump.
it passes through nothing else.
If the relay is clicking, the the PCM is grounding it.
That means everytning else is working properly.
That being the case, and there is no current getting to the pump, then it HAS to be the wires from the relay to the pump, OR the relay connection in the fuse block OR the connector for the fuel tank module.
If everything else is working, then it HAS to be one of these things.
I hope this helps.
Good luck
