GMC Repair: faulty brake lights, gmc yukon, stop lamp

I own a 1999 GMC Yukon. When I depress the brake pedal lightly I get brake lights, but as I increase the pressure the brake lights go out. Hazards work fine. Is this faulty switch?

Never ran into this before, but I can see where as the Brake lamp (stop lamp) switch is PROBABALLY the fault here.
I do not think you would do bad to repalce this, but I will say , as I always do, make sure everything else checks out OK, OR take it to a local repair shop your familiar with and have them diagnose it.
