GMC Repair: rear brake cylinder, haynes manual, screw assembly

Question
I am mechanically inclined but not much on trucks.  I am a hot tub repair tech and went to school for aviation maint.  I have a 97 silverado v8 vortex.  The drivers rear is leaking brake fluid.  I suspect the cylinder beacause I can't see anything leaking with the tire on.  Is it difficult to repair.  What are the steps for repair?  Last week I replaced the water pump.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi
Here is the actual GM procedure
Mark the relationship of the wheel to the hub.
Remove the tire.
Remove the wheel.
Mark the relationship of the drum to the axle.
Remove the drum.
Remove the return springs.
Remove the shoe guide.
Remove the hold down springs.
Remove the hold down pins.
Disconnect the actuator lever and the lever pivot.
Remove the lever return spring.
Remove the actuator link.
Disconnect the parking brake strut and the strut spring.
Remove the parking brake lever.
Remove the adjusting screw assembly.
Remove the screw spring.
Inspect all parts for discoloration due to heat or stress. Replace as needed.
Inspect all parts for signs of wear. Replace as needed.
Inspect the wheel cylinder for signs of leakage.
Clean the dirt and foreign material from around the wheel cylinder.
Remove the inlet pipe. Plug the pipe to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
Remove the bolts.
Remove the wheel cylinder.
Inspect the brake drum for scoring and machining tolerance.

All that being said I would HIGHLY recommend you go find a Chilton or Haynes Manual for your truck, and follow along with hat manual.
It'll have pics or drawings to assist you along the way.
You should be able to locate one either at a local auto parts store, or at your local library.
Good Luck
