GMC Repair: 99 GMC Suburban Multi-Function Connector, haynes manual, gmc suburban

Question
I am replacing the multifunction switch on my 1999 GMC Suburban (1500, 4WD, 5.7l, Automatic, Cruise Control). I was able to remove the switch without much of a problem, but I am having a hard time with the 2 connectors that plug into the connector under the dash. I can not figure out how to disconnect the old ones from the connector. I pulled out 2 blue tabs from the side of the connector, but the connectors still are locked in. I would appreciate any help you can provide. The Haynes manual was a great help, "disconnect the plugs".
Thanks Mike

Answer
Hi
You'll have to removed the 7mm bolt that secures the large connector together.
Then you'll see the 2 side flat connectors will slide out of the larger one.
You'll have to gently pry up on the small falt connectors and then slide them out (look at the new switch, the connectors you'll see a small "bumb" that secures it to the large connector.
BEST advice is to remove the large plastic lower trim piece.
Then remove the round cross brace (you'll see it is held on by 4 bolts).
You'll then have LOADS of room to help.
I Hope this helps.
Just advice from experience.
Good Luck
