GMC Repair: 99 Suburban, oblong hole, plastic connector

Question
How hard is it to disconnect the brake from the booster? I do not have small hands and when I looked under that area I could barley see. There is a white plastic connector but I don't know how to release it. Any help would be awesome.

Answer
Hi
They used 2 different "Clips" to hold pedal/stop lamp switch to booster rod.
One was a round wavy type washer, split washer combo.
You have to find split and open it up just a bit to slide it off of rod.
The second was a clip type where it had an oblong hole that pushed over rod then slid back into smaller portion of oblong hole and had a piece that secured when it was all the way on rod.
In both cases a THIN (the thinnest) and long (as long as you can handle under there 8-10 inch) flat bladed screwdriver will be your best friend.
Both are VERY diffucult to remove, no matter how big your hands are!! lol
Probabally the white palstic connector your seeing is the brake switch. After you remove clip, it twists up then pulls off of booster rod.
Trust me it really is not easy, as your doing all this standing on your head!!!
It is not impossible, just take time and be careful. Dont loose cool. If in doubt, as I always say, take it to a repair shop your familiar with and have them get it off for you.
