GMC Repair: fuel pressure effecting tranny, fuel pressure, driveability

Question
I have a 99 denali and recently the transmission started acting really weird not shifting sticking between gears then working fine i had a similar problem a while ago and when i replaced the fuel filter everything went away well last night it started to do it again and i i noticed that when i was going up an incline it seemed to act like it was out of gas. is there something in those computers that fuel pressure can affect transmission operation?

Answer
Hi
It's not there is something in the Engine control system, but lack of fuel will effect the driveability of any vehicle. Some vehicles (like yours) it acts seems to be acting on the tranny. it really is not directly acting on transmission, but thats where it is felt.
I would replace the filter, and count yourself lucky, I have seen people put transmissions in vehicles for your ame problem, when a 20.00 fuel filter would have fixed it.
It also would be more noticable on incline also.
Hope it helps
Good Luck
