GMC Repair: THANKS!!!!!! ( Slow take off now), vacuum leak, vacuum line

Question
1996 Chevy Astro ....Boy you sure know your stuff! You put me right on my problem it was the ground up in the front by the radiator (We've been trying to figure this out for weeks now) Now i have a new issue :( When i give the van gas to take off sometimes it doesnt want to go and my ac will quit blowing until i get up to a certain speed. Is this a vaccum lin problem or something else? If it is a vaccum do you know where i should start looking for it? Thanks again for all your info and your time :)
Also is there a place I can donate to this site? You've saved me lots!!!

Answer
Hi
The A/C is probabally a vacuum leak somewhere. Over by the battery the vacuum line , from the engine to the inside of vehicle, there is a tee. If your battery has leaked, it can eat the rubber and plastic. I would remove the battery and look REALLY close to that area. Before removing the battery though run vehicle and listen. You'll be listening for a "hiss"ing sound. You may want to listen all around. Remove the engine cover (dog house) from inside van and listen all around.
The hesitation on accleration I would check fuel filter, and fuel pump pressure output.
Check the distributor cap and rotor. Plugs, wires.  A
tune up. Do this first, it never hurts to do maintance.
This is just advice from expreience.
\Hope it helps.
Good Luck
