GMC Repair: 2004 Envoy, hood latch, digital thermometer

Question
My Envoy has the digital thermometer inside but is stuck on 60 degrees no matter what the actual temp is.  The a/c won't blow out cold air and I am assuming the problems are related.  What do you think?

Answer
Hi
Your assumption are correct.
There is an otside ambient temp sensor located in the front of truck, underhood JUST to the left of the hood latch. It is right next to the rubber tube you'll see that allows air to cool the battery. When that sensor goes faulty, it CAN create the condition you are experiencing.
You could go get the HVAC system scanned for codes, just to make sure.
That sensor just twists in to latch, similar to a turn signal bulb.
Just advise from experience.
Hope it helps
Good Luck
