GMC Repair: Brakelight switch, gmc sierra, gmc

I have a 1997 gmc sierra, recently I had a new brakelight switch installed.  About 2 weeks later it broke and I had to replace it once again.  Now it has only been a week and it needs another one.  At first the shop I went to said it was a faulty switch(bad part), but now I don't know what is causing it to go out, is it in my brake pedal?

Sounds like it may be being installed improperly OR they are not putting the clip back on correctly.
The clip that holds the switch on the pedal, is very hard to remove, and put on, so it sounds like they may be not putting it on correct.
Could be a bad switch, but 2 of them...rare to say the least.
As much as I hate to put down fellow technician(s) work you may want to just take it to another place and have them check it, OR have the repair shop you used get a switch from a different supplier.
Just advise from experience.
