GMC Repair: AC replacing compressor, yukon xl, fan clutch

Question
I know this is not your area of expertise, but I'm desperate.  Maybe you know someone who can help me if you can't.  My AC went out in March, 2006, it only blows hot air.  I was told that my compressor was locked up.  In order to reair it I needed to buy a new compressor, dryer and oriface.  I purchased all new parts along with flush, rl 134 oil, everthing the parts guy recommended on buying.  My technician installed everthing and it worked great for 2 months and now it is back blowing hot air.  My tech said the compressor was bad so I needed to take the recently purchased compressor back and get a new one.  Returned all parts and started over. I ask the GM Parts guy if there was anything else that could cause the compressor not to be working.  He told me that sometimes you just get bad compressors, but that nothing else could cause the compressor to fail. As soon as my tech installed the new compressor he said it was blowing to much metal so he stopped and told me to go back and trade for a new one. After being out $1200. in parts I decided to just take it to the dealership.  They said I need a new fan clutch or the compressor won't work and will get locked up.  My previous technician had worked for GM 26 years and retired so he has experience, he says I don't need the fan clutch because my car never overheated, no engine light came on nothing.  So my question is what is the exact protocol on repairing/replacing the AC system for a Yukon XL 2002, 58,0000 miles.  Sorry so long and detailed, but I think I'm getting ripped off from the dealership.
