GMC Repair: 1999 buick park ave fuel gage, buick park ave, instrument cluster

Question
I removed battery negative and then positive cables to clean the terminals and then replaced same. everything electricaly works ok except for the fuel gage. The needle is stuck on the opposite side of the "peg" it normaslly would be on! How do I fix the problem? It was working fine before this. Thanks

Answer
There are two ways of fixing this:

1. With the use of a very strong magnet, at least 20-25lb strength, circle it near the needle and you will be able to flip the needle around to the correct side.

2. If you are unable to find a magnet stong enough, remove the instrument cluster, take off the clear cover and manually flip it around with your finger.
