GMC Repair: replacing fuel filter, gmc yukon, frame rail

How do I go about replacing a fuel filter on a 2000 GMC Yukon, 5.3 engine?

The fuel filter is located on the left frame rail midpoint near the transmission crossover,relieveing fuel pressure on these can be a bit tough,what i do is put a drain bucket under the filter and crack open the fitting enough so the fuel will begin to come out,just let it drain into the bucket until pressure is gone,remove the filter.
