GMC Repair: Power loss 350 Vortec, skin infection, diagnostic procedures

I recently purchased a 1999 Escalade 350 Vortec w/ 44k miles. I bought it from a friend who has all maint records.  When I really punch the gas and try to accelerate it has plenty of pick up until the rpm's hit 3000, then it feels tlike the engine cuts off the gas.  I decelerate until I let off the gas.  It makes it so I can't pass anyone. I cleaned the throttle body and the fuel filter was replaced at 30k miles. It feels like computer turns the engine off. HELP!  Thanks.

There are 25+ sensors that can cause this fault. The vehicle will need to fisrt be determiner to find out if it is losing FUEL or IGNITION. Once this is established, Diagnostics can begin.

WHY everyone automatically blames the computer for everything.

It's like if you get a skin infection in your arm and it gets sore, Is it your HEADS fault ?.

You have to do all of the diagnostic procedures using the scanner.
