I have a 95 Gmc 1500 pickup w/5.o motor my problem is the motor surges at about 1500 rpm with the peddle held steady and the motor warm.   When you disconnect the egr from the solenoid and and plug up the vacume line the surging stops but the motor pings and nocks
Answer -
Could be many things causing it. Look for vacuum leaks in all of the vacuum hoses and test the EGR and the EGR controller.

Ihave checked the egr valve replaced the solenoid and check for leaks no go ?

Answer
The 2 most likely suspects are vacuum lines and or an intake manifold leak.

Without having access to the vehicle an exact diagnosis is most impossible.

What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a vacuum line may have been knocked loose or a wire connection came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed..
