GMC Repair: check engine light, temperature gauge, geo metro

Question
i have a 1995 geo metro with the 1.0 litre motor that the "check engine light" comes on and will not go out..it runs great, performs great, the only thing that is strange is that the temperature gauge acts like it is a tachometer, the higher the rpm's the farther toward cold the gauge travels. if i disconnect the battery the "check engine light" will go out but will come back on shortly. why is the light on and how do i cut it off?

Answer
The CHECK ENGINE light is illuminated because there is one of 40 possible problems with your emissions/electronics system with the vehicle. You need to have a COMPUTER SCABNNER and the technical knowledge to understand what CODE(S) that are revealed MEAN and the proper method to diagnose and correct the problem.

Until you get the problem corrected the light will ALWAYS stay ON.
