QuestionI have a 1991 Chevrolet silverado,1500. It is automatic with a 305 c.u. engine. Recently I changed the spark plugs and air filter.
My problem is, that it runs at a very fast idle all the time, whether it is hot or cold. I don't have a tach, but coming home today, while driving through a school zone, I was going 28mph with my foot off the gas petal.
Please help!
Answercarburated or fuel injected ?.
IF fuel injected is there 2, 6 or 8 fuel injectors ?.
What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a vacuum line may have been knocked loose or a wire connection came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed.
