GMC Repair: Timing Connector 94 GMC Sierra, electrical harnesses, gmc sierra

Question
When setting the timing on my truck(94 GMC Sierra 1500) the sticker on the fan shroud says I must diconnect the timing connector to put the system in "Bypass Mode" before using the timing light. I think I found the connector, but only one half. Why would I not have both halves? I checked the rest of the harness to see if half of it may have been cut off by the previous owner, but everything looks to be from the factory.
Any Info appreciated!

Answer
If the timing connector was disconnected the CHECK ENGINE light would be illiminated on the dash.

When you find the RIGHT connector and disconnect it, the CHECK ENGINE light WILL illiminate on the dash.

WHERE did you find this connector ?. Can you e-mail me a picture of it and it's location ?.

Did you look near the computer as it may be taped to the electrical harnesses and or stuffed under the carpet near the computer.

Send me pictures.
