GMC Repair: 1994 jimmy, thire, timing light

Question -
I talked to you a week ago about my fuel pump and relay and filter. I changed them all then the truck would not start.  I have now cleaned the egr which was stuck open.  now moves freely.  Truck tried to start once, now just cranks over (very strong).  I have spark and fuel at the test port.  any suggestions?

hello pete Put new plugs in today,  had a friend with a timing light check it he said that all o.k.  (I dont know how to work the light to make sure he did it right).  the codes I am getting on the truck are 23 air intake sensor and 32 egr system.  I have removed the egr again and checked, it is still moving freely. Just to let you know that you have taken more time to answer questions than anyone else I have talked to.  Thank You very much.

i wish i could look at it my self then i could tell just what is going on with that truck of yours pete when you use the timeing light the lead from gun goes to no. 1 plug and cables neg and pos. clean up crank pully really good then start the truck and hold the light on crank pully while the truck is runing you will see o on the crank and the o will top dead center . but if the truck is not runing how can u check the timeing u cant .

thire is a hold down bolt on the dis. lousen it and then u can move the dis try to start this will tell you if it is timeing good luck pete
