GMC Repair: Power Window Motor, gmc sonoma, straigh

1994 GMC Sonoma

How do I remove a power window motor (driver's side).  I have the door panel off, but can't figure out how the motor comes off the frame.

There is the HARD way which involves removing the complete window and frame and you will never get it realigned back the same as it was originally.

OR

If you look using a mirror and a flashlight you will see 3 13mm bolts behind the metal panel that hold the motor onto the window regulator. Looking straigh at the metal cover that is over top of these bolts you will see a DIMPLE punched in the metal cover cover just in line with the bolt heads.

Simply drill out these 3 dimples, One in front of each bolt just large enough to get a 13mm socket on the bolt and remove the bolts and the motor will drop right out.

If you have a camera and can e-mail a picture of the door metal door panel cover in frony of these bolts I will indicate the dimples that you can drill out.
