GMC Repair: 2000 GMC Jimmy SLT 4.3L 4WD, oil pressure gauge, water pump bearing

Question
I have a 2000 gmc jimmy and here over the past 2 months or so my engine has had this sound coming from it. It sort of sounds like a belt slipping or a ungreased pulley or something. I took it to a local Gmc dealership and there mechanics said it was just the belt. The thing is it has been getting progressively louder over time and now my oil pressure gauge bounces when the engine idles and the temp guage has been slowly creeping up as well. A friend of mine listened to it and said it sounds like my water pump bearing is about to seize and that it will or should start leaking antifreeze if this is the problem, but it is not leaking anything. I do not know what else to do, I have already spent 1200+ dollars getting it checked, having the a/c compressor replaced with this sound not ceasing. If you could please help me I would appreciate it. Thanks

Answer
There are numerous possibilities and i would need to have access to the vehicle to listen for the noise.

Buy a spray can of BELT DRESSING at any auto parts store and when you hear this noise and with the engine running, spray the belt and see if the noise stops.
