Nissan Repair: engine stall and black smoke, nissan pathfinder 2005, nissan pathfinder

Question
I had my Nissan Pathfinder (2005) in for routine work two weeks ago and to replace the fuel sensor. All belts replaced, plugs and wires and fluids...
Yesterday the vehicle started sputtering and wouldn't accelerator - eventually engine shut down and wouldn't start - had to be towed. I noticed misty black smoke from the exhaust...
Any advice?

Answer
Hi LuWanna -

Do you have any engine light on? If so, we can download the code and it will tell you ehat the problem is. I think Autozone will do it for free.

Otherwise, take it back to the repair shop. Looks like it is something they did to the car.

My guess would be the fuel pump, could be the fuel sensor they replaced as well, or MAP sensor, if there is an engine light on.

Hope this helps -
