GMC Repair: 1996 GMC Surburban 2500, gmc suburban, gmc surburban

Question
1996 GMC suburban with a 7.4 litre 116000 miles on motor, when the motor is cold it starts up ok but when it is driven and restarted it takes about three attempts to start. I have changed the plugs and wires and fuel filter and the problem was not corrected.

OK, try this test and let me know.

Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position ONLY, Do NOT start the engine.

Turn the key "ON", Then back to the OFF position. Repeat this sequence 3 times and on the fourth, Try and START the engine and let me know what happens.
