GMC Repair: tranny shifts late, sensers, blazer

i have a 1998 s-10 blazer the car started loosing power and would not run up hills during this time the tranny would not shift and it would overheat we found the cat needed replacement after that i have the power back ( and more ) but the tranny shifts late and wants to stay around 3,000 rpm unless i let off the gas climbing hills it shifts to get the rpm to 3,000 to 4,500 did i mess the tranny up  thanks bob

i hope you did not mess your tranny up either with the heat you were pushing from the cat i will be honest it is posbile . here is what u can do is try reseting the compuiter it also shifts by the compuiter with the sensers repoaending  try takeing off the pos. cable for 5 min and hook it back up maybe it just be all wright sure worth a try . let me know pete
