I have a 1972 chevelle with a 350. I want to put a 1988 350 4 bolt 1 piece rear main in it. Will it bolt right up or is this not a reasonable swap. I heard there is a difference between these 2 engines. I don't want to modify the stock one but I do the replacement. 1 piece rear as to a 2 piece rear main.

Bolt right UP to WHAT ?. To the exsisting 350 transmission.

AnswerTo be perfectly honest, I don't know as I rarely swapped an engine with a different kind. You could call and ask any junk yard and or transmission shop as they would most likely have a book to tell them or they might know from personal knowledge.
I wish I could give you the answer, But I can't be sure.
