GMC Repair: Water Pump, gmc sonoma, reputable facility

The water pump on my 1997 GMC Sonoma, with VIN X, is leaking badly. I have the 4.3 liter V6. We were thinking about replacing it ourselves. Is it something that we can do, or should we spent the extra loot for a shop to do it?

Answer
The water pump is not that difficult to replace on this vehicle. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being VERY DIFFICULT to replace, The water pump would come in at about a 6.

If your NOT sure that you can properly handle the project, I would advise you to have it done by a reputable facility.
