GMC Repair: noisy actuator mode, gmc sierra, sierra 4x4

Question
there's a noise coming from inside my 93 gmc 4x4 pick-up cab, sounds like a door opening and closing when I either start or stop the trucks engine. if the housing that houses this unit need to be removed how or where can i find instructions on removal of this housing, or is there somewhere i can unhook the
wiring to temporary stop the noise, any help would be appreciated.

Answer
HI TM, I almost have to laugh at this because I went thru this also. I ended up going to the General Motors training center and asking them about this when i had a class there. The vent actuator automaticly opens the vent when you turn your truck off so that you won't blow out one of your windows on hot days when you slam the door, it gives the air and exit instead of building up preasure inside the cab, also, it closes the vent when you start the vehicle again. I'm not sure the procedure to replace the actuator motor, but i think it is an external repair. Let me know how you make out, if you still have problems i will stay with you on this until the repair is complete.
