so you think the engine died because there was a lost of electrical power to the engine? but it seems strange. the headlights were still ON when the engine stalled. so now i am wondering if it was an electrical problem. i have never experienced this before. i notice the injection warning lights was on and off...what actually does this mean?

i saw your post on the lost of electric power to engine.
i have a alfa romeo 145. today i was driving it on the highway. the spark lights was switching on and off for a while and then...suddenly the engine died on the highway. i pull to one side, was puzzled and didn't know what was happening. i open up the car, fiddle a little on the wires on the battery and the car starts again. its pretty scary when u loose the engine on the highway. do u know what is wrong? i will appreciate your answer. please send it to my email at j.h.n.lim@gmail.com

With any problem with electrics the first thing to do is clean the battery terminals.  And then proceed to other items after that.  Either opening and closing the hood vibrated some corroded electrical connection back to life or your battery terminals are very dirty.  At any rate--clean the battery terminals by disconnecting the cables and cleaning the contact areas with wire brush or sand paper.

As you give me more information I am better able to narrow the problem.  Now, with this information here are the two places I would check first. 1) Check the fuel pump output for volume and pressure; 2) check the ignition switch.

The warning light coming on and off means an intermediate code was set that must be read by a scanner.  If the fuel pressure or volume drops the ecu will see an injector problem. The codes produced by a scanner only point to a problem and it takes a knowledgeable technician to interpret the data.
