Alfa Romeo Repair: Alfa 156 02 heater out of control & cruise control intermitant fault, alfa 156, column switch

Hi my interior heater has a mind of its own! It is the 'new' type with LED
chrome dials. The direction of air flow, temparature and fan speed all change
settings on their own. This happens every few minutes. It does seem to
remain constant when set at the higest and lowest temps with fan full on.
Also the cruise control doesnt always come on when the stearing column
switch is turned. This usually rectifys its self after the engine is restarted a
couple of times. Any ideas?

Dirty battery terminals will cause electronic items to fail over time. The same with poor grounds. Try cleaning the battery terminals and cleaning and tightening any ground connections you can find and then unplug the connectors to both items and reconnect them several times to see if the problem is corrected before replacing anything. The use of electrical contact cleaner on the plug ends is also helpful.
