Alfa Romeo Repair: Alfa 147 selespeed 2002, mo ps, rally driver

Question
Hi Stephen, Can you help? I bought a 147 selespeed from new, I have always taken my car to an approved dealer in the UK. I have only done 25,000 miles and I can confirm that I am not a rally driver. I have had 2 anti roll bars and new bushes and wisbones fitted, the last in March this year. I have just taken my car back to the garage today as it was making a creaking sound and today started knocking. The dealers took a look at my car and said that there may be a problem with my steering rack? or rod? I noticed that they had a hushed discussion as to something that may or may not have been done when my last bushes were fitted. Have you any idea what the problem might be? I am due to go bacck on Friday.
Many Thanks for reading my problem.
Regards
Mo
PS Love San Fransisco, we were there last year, a lot colder than i thought it would be.

Answer
Unless you are driving on very rough roads, that is pretty low mileage to be replacing bushings and a rack (on warranty I hope).  From this distance and with such few facts I would not hazard a guess as to the problem. (Workmanship?).

If San Francisco gets a 3 or 4 day heat spell the fog comes in and cools things off. And the food is good too.
