Alfa Romeo Repair: Alfa 75 T-Spark 1990, crank sensor, alfa 75

Question
I have a 1990 T-spark which has lost power to fuel pump and sparking.Having cleaned all underbonnet connections and relays etc.,I removed the crank position sensor cleaned it and she started and ran fine.Went to start it next day and it fired and then cut out and will not go again.Turns over but no spark.
Any suggestons?
THanks.

Answer
I doubt that it was the crank sensor--how dirty was it--takes a lot for the magnetic pickup to not work. But you might as well check it again.  However, you need a digital multi meter to check the ignition system. Do you get power to the coils--even what condition are the sparkplugs in. You need to read the resistence of the crank and cam sensors as well as look at the ac reading of those sensors while motoring over the engine.

But, the usual culprit is the ignition module...
