Alfa Romeo Repair: Spider Oil Leak, clutch fluid, pan gasket

Question
Hello,
I have a 1984 Spider that I've been enjoying a lot.  Two problems though I thought you might be able to help me with.

1).  There is quite a substantial oil leak coming from the oil pan gasket.  How do I fix it? and do I have to find a specific gasket for Alfas or can I just go to a Kragens?

2.) There is a grind shifting into 2nd gear if I don't do it gently.  Also sometimes going into first if I'm at a stoplight.  Could it be the synchros or something else?  could this repair job be potentially too difficult for a novice to fix?  On the average How much should I expect to pay to have this kind of problem fixed at a shop.

Thank you in advance for your reply, I'm glad I found you guys.

P.S.  These questions  can be posted on the repair board I don't know why in the message that I'm sending It shows up as no.

Answer
For the oil leak use "The Right Stuff" or Ultra Grey by loctite/permatex.

The clutch release may not go far enough. Replace the clutch fluid with Castrol LMA and make sure all air is out of system.
But, the 2nd synchyo is no doubt worn. Also try replacing the trans fluid with a synthetic 75w-90.

Replacing synchros is not a novice job.
