Alfa Romeo Repair: fuel injectors, conical shape, spider veloce

Question
I just installed a new fuel pump, and I am getting fuel to the fuel rail.  However, it acts like fuel is not getting to the injectors.  If you try to start it and then try to take the fuel line off at the rail, it will spurt gas as if it has built up pressure.  The car is an 86 spider veloce that has set up for some time.  Should I try to remove the injectors or what?  Thanks.

Answer
Remove the injectors from their holes (and still on the rail) enough to put four equal glass jars under them. Then crank the starter and observe the results. Note that the injector spray pattern must be a fine mist in a conical shape. No solid streams.  You will probably find that the injectors are faulty.

If you can find a shop that has an ultrasound cleaning machine have them worked on.  Otherwise get some rebuilts from Napa etc.
