American Motors: 1968 Rambler door lock, time jerry, posistion

Kevin. I just bought a clone SCRambler from ebay, and was very surprised that there is no way to lock the doors from inside the car. It's a 1968 Rambler American. Is this true, or am I missing something? I don't have any lock buttons in the car. I cannot believe they didn't have a way to lock the doors. I would almost think it would be a required safety feature. Thanks for your time. Jerry M.

There should be a paddle shaped lever located in the arm rest or a button on the top of the door.
If you locate it, when you get out of the vehicle, with the door open:
Depress the lock, pull the inside door handle to the open posistion and release, exit the vehicle and close the door. It's now locked.lever
