American Motors: 1964 Rmbler Classic 550, repair purposes, seal replacement

Question
Just picked this gem up for my son. It has 27774 original miles and has been sitting off and on over the past 25yrs. The guy that we bought it off said it didn't leak any oil, however its leaking oil. There is a puddle underneath it coming from the driveshaft. The leak is midway on the shaft at what appears to be a joint. Why is there oil there and is this a simple seal replacement?? I would also like to know it there are Chilton like books or a website that I can go to, that will have a breakdown of the car for repair purposes??
Thanks
Carmon

Answer
The oil leak will involve some work.
I suggest going to this web site and purchasing a 1964 Rambler repair manual. http://nashparts.com/Rambler/techman58-83.htm
Google "1964 Rambler" and you will be surprised how many sites there are dedicated to old Ramblers.
Good luck and have fun.
