American Motors: Driveline, auto parts stores, threadlocker

Question
1959 Rambler American. I had drive line rebuilt for common u-joints.  Is there a trick to getting the drive line to stay on?  It has a big nut that tightens on the yoke, but keeps backing off. Thanks!

Answer
Rhonda,
I am assuming you are talking about the nut on the differential pinion. First, clean the grease from the threads of the pinion. Then apply Loctite Red threadlocker to the threads. It can be purchased at auto parts stores.
Torque the nut to specs, or as neccessary to set the pinion preload.
This should work.
