I am unable to get the old ignition coil out. I loosened the back screw but it won't budge. I also tried to remove the bolts to the brackett but I can't tell what type they are.

Brian,
What are you working on?

Answer
Brian,
I am assuming it is difficult to remove because of rust. Try a can of rust penetrant or WD-40. Spray it all around on the coil and bracket. Let is soak for a hour or two.
I believe the bracket is bolted to the engine block and the the back screw as you call it clamps the coil in place. Some were long screws and some had a hex head on them. Worse comes to worse, you can always mount another coil on the fender well.
Hopefully, the WD-40 will help. It won't hurt the coil or wiring.
